Question

Where do you find “scroll-stopping” hooks without copying competitors?

Posted by •11/2/2025
I feel like every hook I write sounds like someone else.

I don't want to straight copy, but I also don't want to reinvent the wheel.

What's your method to come up with strong hooks that are original enough?

Copying competitors made my ads worse.

When I started using real phrases from reviews, my CTR went up.

So yeah, customers write the best hooks.

I literally build a “hook bank” from:
- Amazon reviews (exact phrases)
- Reddit complaints
- YouTube comments

Then I remix.

The best hooks sound like the customer, not like the marketer.

Copy the STRUCTURE, not the sentence.

3 hook structures that always work:
1) “If you have ___, stop doing ___”
2) “The reason ___ keeps happening is ___”
3) “POV: you're trying to ___ but ___”

Then plug in real customer language from reviews. That's what makes it feel original.
