How do you get UGC creators when you have 0 sales?

I'm stuck because everyone says "UGC is key" but creators ask for money upfront.
If I have 0 sales, should I still pay for UGC? Or should I make it myself?
Budget is limited so I don't want to waste it.

Make it yourself first. Ugly UGC that feels real > polished UGC that feels like an ad.
Once you have 1-2 winning angles, then hire creators to scale.

I paid €120 for UGC before first sale. It was decent but didn't magically convert.
The thing that DID convert was rewriting the hook and fixing the landing page.
If you do pay, give them a script:
- problem
- demo
- result
- quick proof
Otherwise you get generic "I love this product" content that sells nothing.

Don't overcomplicate.
Make 10 videos yourself first. Your phone is enough.
If the product needs a certain look (beauty etc), then pay for 1-2 creators max, but only after you validate the angle.
Creators don't fix a bad offer. They amplify a good angle.
