Does having a long landing page help or hurt conversions?

I see huge landing pages with many sections and also very short ones with only a few blocks. Which one usually converts better for cold traffic?

Mine is long but a bit random. I will clean it up and remove the useless sections.

Short pages convert well when the product is simple. If the product needs explanation, longer pages can work better.

Long pages are fine as long as every section has a job. Random fluff kills conversion.
