Does “face to camera” UGC really outperform hands-only videos?

I'm not comfortable showing my face yet.
Can hands-only demos still work in 2025 or do you NEED a person talking?
If it matters: product is a practical household item, not beauty.

Face helps when the product requires belief.
Like supplements. Or “too good to be true” products.
If it's a simple household thing, hands-only is fine. Just don't make it slow.

I run hands-only for cleaning products. Works.
If you can show the “wow” moment fast, nobody cares about your face.

Hands-only can absolutely work.
The real variable is TRUST.
Face-to-camera is a shortcut to trust, but you can build trust with:
- clear demo
- proof
- “before/after”
- real environment (not stock footage)
For household items, hands-only is often better because it's about the result, not the influencer.
